Recycling and Circular Economy Topics Highlight K 2019 – Baerlocher is Trusted Advisor for the Plastics Industry

The K show, the world’s leading trade fair for the plastics industry, closed its doors after eight days in Dusseldorf (Germany) on Oct. 23. More than 3,300 exhibitors from 63 countries could look back on a very successful event. Some 225,000 attendees from 165 countries visited the trade show for information about the latest innovations in the plastics industry. The nations most represented after Germany were Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey and China, followed by the United States. In addition, there was a significant increase in trade visitors from the Russian Federation, Japan and Brazil. According to its strong presence in Asia, Baerlocher was able to welcome many visitors from India, China and other Asian countries at its highly frequented stand in Hall 5. Other key areas were the United States, South America, Benelux countries as well as Southeastern European Countries and Russia. The Baerlocher team at the stand, which was equally international, was able to provide visitors with country-specific support and competent information. Key topics recycling and circular economy
Recycling and the circular economy were clearly the primary focus of the trade fair. Baerlocher provided the latest information about its innovative Resin Stabilization Technology. RST — Baerlocher’s contribution to addressing the current sustainability trends in the plastics industry — helps solve the quality and consistency problems that arise from using recycled post-consumer and post-industrial plastics.
“When it comes to sustainability, Baerlocher has always been a trusted advisor to the plastics industry,” said Arne Schulle, CEO of the Baerlocher Group. “This has been our topic since the beginning of the transition from lead to calcium organic stabilizers in the PVC industry.” Baerlocher cooperates with a number of well-known companies in the plastics industry, including polymer manufacturer ExxonMobil Chemical, packaging manufacturer KNF FLEXPAK, recycling technology company APK AG and recycling machine manufacturer EREMA, on various RST projects to promote the circular economy for plastics. With live demonstrations in its Circonomic Center, EREMA, along with Baerlocher and APK, showed how machine manufacturers, additive manufacturers and processors can combine their know-how to process low-grade film waste into a product that is suitable for blown film extrusion. All of these topics were discussed at the party at the Baerlocher stand on the first day of the fair, with musical entertainment provided by “The Original Blues Brothers Doubles Show” as customers, business partners and employees of Baerlocher from all over the world celebrated the start of the fair.
