Baerlocher India goes on stream with new plant

In 1999, Baerlocher paved the way for its presence in India by acquiring the National Peroxide production site in Dewas. Over the past two decades the facility transformed from a small local manufacturing unit with a capacity of 4000 MT to a modern manufacturing site with three production plants producing over 30,000 MT of products. Today, Baerlocher offers a wide range of additives for PVC and CPVC applications, including solid and liquid stabilizers, as well as various intermediates, and continues to expand its footprint in India. On the 21st January 2020, the 4th Plant of the Baerlocher production site in Dewas went on stream. During a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Arne Schulle, CEO of the Baerlocher Group, Jürgen Bähr, Global Head of Production at Baerlocher, and Jayen Modi, Managing Director of Baerlocher India, launched a production line that will supply Ca-based stabilizers to the Indian market. “This investment shows our commitment to our customers in India“, says Jayen Modi. ”With the increased capacity, we will remain a reliable supplier of non-dusting Lead stabilizers and liquid mixed metal stabilizers – but we also offer a range of exciting new product forms of Calcium based systems“. The step is part of an expansion program for the production site in India. This $30 million investment was announced in February 2019 with the goal of doubling the production capacity. It also includes a new state-of-the-art technical service and product development laboratory. During the event, Arne Schulle also met with representatives of the local trade union, underscoring the importance of the Indian market for Baerlocher and highlighting the highly skilled jobs that the company is bringing to the region.
