Metallic Stearates are often used as thickening agents for the production of greases. Whereas the dropping point of the grease is highly influenced by the combination of metal ion and fatty acid. Aluminium tristearates are mainly used for low viscosity greases, Aluminium distearates lead to a higher viscosity. Lithium Soaps are have better swelling properties compared to Aluminium Soaps.
